After-Care Questions I get asked after Dermal Filler Treatments
Profhilo is considered in my clinic as injectable moisture for the skin. This means that it helps your own skin to produce collagen and not to be thought as adding volume. It is very different to dermal fillers so its important not to be confused with it. It is a bio-remodelling treatment which hydrates the skin and some, lifts and tightens sagging and loose skin. This treatment can be used on the face, neck and hands.
Profhilo a BDDE-free pure/stabilised injectable hyaluronic acid (HA) with a concentration of 64mg / 2ml.
There are both low molecular weight HA and high molecular weight HA. These two different weight HA molecules help increase the levels of type I and type III collagen in fibroblasts and type IV and VII collagen in keratinocytes.
By producing extra collagen in these two skin cells it has two effects on the skin:
– Immediate tightening effect (result of high molecular weight hyaluronic acid)
– Bio-regenerating action (result of low molecular weight hyaluronic acid which stimulates 4 types of collagen and elastin.
This results in improved skin quality and skin hydration both in the dermis and epidermis. The treatment gives a very natural results as it’s your own collagen and elastin giving the rejuvenating & slightly plumped effect.
Profhilo can be used on its own and also achieves excellent results in combination with other aesthetic treatments.
Profhilo has been thoroughly tested and has no risk of rejection as it is a pure form of what your skin generates naturally.
This treatment was brought to the UK in 2016. It has become a very popular and award winning product. It is described as a ‘game changer’ in facial aesthetics.
2016 Winner – Aesthetics Awards Product Innovation of the Year
2016 Commendation – Aesthetics Awards Injectable Product of the Year
2017 Commendation – The Harley Academy Award for Injectable Product of the Year
During your consultation a detailed medical history will be taken, helping the medical specialist to determine whether Profhilo is an appropriate product/treatment for you to receive and whether it will help you achieve the results that you are looking for. During this consultation the potential risks and aftercare recommendations are discussed, helping you determine whether this form of injectable treatment is really right for you. You may also require this face to face assessment to determine how many sessions you may require.
